Wayne Arner
Noise, Air Quality & Vibration Specialist
warner@kbenv.com
Wayne obtained both his B.S. and M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Central Florida with an emphasis on air quality and noise. Over the past 14 years has served as an Environmental Engineer and Air Quality/Noise/Vibration Specialist at KBE. Wayne is also a U.S. Naval Veteran.
Wayne applies his professional expertise on the assessment of transportation-related sources of air emissions and noise. From the collection of field data, the analysis of existing and future-year conditions to the documentation of results, his work has remained at the forefront of these important and expanding fields. He is also heavily involved in the assessment of stationary sources of noise, land development noise studies, the statistical treatment of environmental monitoring data and the mitigation of noise and air quality impacts.
His computer modeling includes the FHWA’s Traffic Noise Model (TNM) and Roadway Construction Noise Model (RCNM), the U.S. EPA’s MOVES and pollutant concentration model (CAL3QHC), FAA’s Aviation Environmental Design Tool (AEDT), the FTA’s Noise Impact Assessment Spreadsheet, the FDOT’s carbon monoxide screening model for intersections (CO Florida 2012), and the University of Central Florida’s (UCF’s) Community Noise Model (CNM).
Examples of Wayne’s recent contributions to air quality and noise include his in-the-field analyses of airport operations; measurements of hydrocarbon (HC) and particulate matter; the evaluation of air monitoring data at over 25 airports across this country and other parts of the world; the evaluation of bamboo to reduce traffic noise levels and the comparison of air emissions among aircraft of current and future noise stage standards.
Wayne enjoys the great outdoors, driving his roadster with the top down, learning about foreign lands, and braving exotic cuisine.
